Calscape offers a unique opportunity for you to contribute to vital work that connects Californians to the right plants for their area and helps preserve our native ecosystems. As a volunteer, you'll support and enhance our platform by working on critical tasks such as database cleanup, data entry, content updates, image uploading, quality assurance testing, content writing, and even code contributions.

Available Roles:

• Database Cleanup: Help organize and update Calscape’s vast plant data. Required skill: SQL.

• Data Entry: Support data accuracy by entering and maintaining plant and pollinator information. Required skill: SQL.

• Content Updates: Keep our profiles and resources up-to-date and informative.

• Image Uploading: Help source and upload images of California’s native plants and pollinators.

• User Acceptance Testing: Assist in testing new features to ensure quality user experience.

   

• User Experience & User Design: Help shape the look, feel, and usability of Calscape by contributing to user interface design, usability improvements, and design reviews. Required skills: Experience with UX Design Principles and Design tools like Figma.

• Website Development: Contribute to Calscape's website by resolving bug fixes and implementing approved features. Volunteers in this role will work directly with our development team to improve site functionality and user experience. Required skill: Web development experience
